Following my research into State MPs’ second homes allowances and a little chat with The Age newspaper, the lower house Speaker Telmo Languiller is on today’s front page.
This blatant abuse of the expenses system is, in my opinion, a resigning offence. It’s a misuse of public funds and an insult to residents in his Tarneit constituency.
If nothing else, the second homes rule must change to state that MPs are only eligible if their constituency is more than 80km from Melbourne, not their (supposed) home address.
*Update 25/2/17* He’s resigned as Speaker.
